Hi all!
I just got another Nizo 6080 and I am having problem with it. When I put the aperture setting at auto (red dot) it just swings to either under exposed section or the over exposed section, mostly under exposed. If I place it in the manual setting it does not respond. If I place in the +1 setting it does not respond unless I press the +1 button also and hold it. I hope this is not broke. My other Nizo 6080 is not with me right now so I cant compare. I hope I am just missing something. I do have fresh batteries and a film inside the compartment (Plus X). I have also pointed the camera straight to a lamp to check if I was really underexposed but no cigar. Hope somebody can help. Thanks a lot!

crimsonson,
i feel for ya, man. although i have to admit i've never held a nizo, i'd see what sort of exposure reading it gives you in full daylight. if it seems sluggish then, clean the battery contacts with fiberglass or one of those ink erasers with the grit in them. and if that doesn't work, personally, i'd take it apart, clean it and put it back together again. i never really know what i'm doing when i fix things; everything i do is a variation of dissection, cleaning and reassembly. 9 times out of 10, this works for me.
does the 6080 meter run off the batteries for the motor? are you running the meter off the specified batteries or a substitute? if it's a substitute, i'm worried you may have suffered a brown-out or a short.

I had the same problem with my Nizo 6080, and had it fixed by the awesome (but apparently now retired) Georg Graf in L.A.
He replaced a resistor on the circuit board, so this may be a job for a really qualified Nizo tech.
I don't know if you've ever opened up the 6080, but it's got a lot of delicate parts, & lots of electronics, so I wouldn't bother without a service manual (which are impossible to get in English. I could only find one in German).
